Jesus asked His disciples --"Could you not spend one hour with me?"
God loved us so much He gave His only Son to die for our sins.
Is it too much to ask that we spend at least one hour a week with Him?

Welcome to Historic St. John's Episcopal Church - Broad Creek

Founded in 1692, we have been serving our surrounding communities of  Ft. Washington and Oxon Hill, Maryland for over 314 years. You are invited to share this rich tradition and to join us in carrying on a legacy of support to our parish members and service to our neighbors in need.

St. John's
is a diverse community of believers and seekers. All are welcome to join our parish family. You will enrich our lives with your presence and your talents. At the same time, you will also receive the unique blessings only available to you from a vital and productive gathering of loving and caring Christians.

Since we are a small parish, you will find us to be very accessible. You will not be “lost” here. We will get to know each other immediately and you will soon feel that you are a full-fledged member of our family. We have many activities, both in “reaching-out” to the community and in our own rich social life. Thus, we are sure you will find a rewarding experience here in addition to the spiritual blessings of our beautiful worship services.

At one of your initial visits to St. John's
, don't pass up the opportunity to receive a guided tour of the historic church and grounds. We are proud of our past and the traditions that have been maintained here for over 314 years. Ask any parishioner to steer you to one of our historians.

Mission Statement
To know Christ and to make him known by growing the St. John's Community by 20 members each year through excellent worship, particularly music and preaching, Christian formation, adult, youth, and child; and community action, internal and external.

Vision Statement
To know Christ and to make him known.
To be a growing and vibrant multiracial Christian Community, living our baptismal promises in an integrated, responsive, and stable life in Christ in the Anglican Tradition.
